BALTIMORE – Stop gun violence in American with a helping of the good lord.
Just when you thought people couldn’t get any further from the point, along comes a solution using printed wristbands so ridiculous you can’t help but wonder what happened to the human species.
We all know the heart can often be in the right place whilst completely out of touch with reality. This instance of well-meaning idiocy however, could well take the grand prize.
Recently in Baltimore, Maryland a Christian group by the name of Pray Live have issued a range of printed wristbands to help combat gun violence in faith-based schools. Wenda Royster who founded the religious group thinks this is a sterling idea that will “totally work”.
“There are critics who may say: ‘how is a rubber wristband going to protect my child from gun violence?’ My response to that is you never hear about acts of gun violence happening at faith-based schools where the Word is taught, and prayer is prevalent.” – Wenda Royster
Given that over 230 people have died in gun related deaths in Baltimore during 2018, it makes zero sense to think that silicone wristbands imprinted with the word of God are going to change anything.
Many folks are saying that this is a cynical ploy by Royster to make money for her church. Given how little chance there is of them saving someone during a school shooting is it’s easy to understand why.
